The Greatest Gift

Amidst all the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, we often lose sight of the real reason for the season - the birth of the greatest disruptor of the status quo—Jesus. Born in a manger, Jesus’ birth into poverty demonstrated God’s love for the lowly and His desire to be accessible to all people.  It revealed that God loves radically and works in unexpected ways.  And His kingdom is unlike any other.  In His kingdom captives are set free, the weak are made strong, and the least among us are elevated. It is Jesus’ love and His example that inspires the Suncoast STARS’ mission.  It is why we invest the time, energy and resources to give adults with cognitive and physical limitations opportunities to unlock their potential through meaningful work and new learning experiences. Jesus came that we might have the greatest gift, “life - and life more abundantly'“. Some of us just need a little extra help to access that abundant life and that is what we offer every day at Suncoast STARS Community.

Look what’s coming up!

On Saturday, February 28th, Grace Community Church will be hosting our 2nd Annual Stride to Thrive - a family friendly 5k and 1 mile walk benefiting our innovative Work & Enrichment Program for adult s with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Activities begin at 8 a.m. with a 5k run, followed by a 1-mile walk which is accessible to wheelchairs and strollers. Both the 5k and walk will start in Grace’s parking lot and end there with a Family Fun Fest including Purple Bol and Ryan’s Coffeehouse food trucks, music by DJ Mike, bounce houses, yard games, Marty the Marauder, a hitting station, face painting, vendor & non-profit booth - and a special performance by our very own Suncoast STARS! This year we are also adding a silent auction! 😊 Bring your family, friends and neighbors!
